Question by chocoboryo: What Species of Pet Bird Do You Think is the “Best”?
Alright, I’ll admit now that this question is partly to show off my new bird which I received today. 
But this is also a question I’m interested in hearing the answer to.

I think lorikeets are the best pet bird because of how unbelieveably playful they are… they are like kittens that never grow up! They are almost always doing something funny (or naughty). Plus they adapt to change well and generally readily accept a new foods and objects.
So my question is: What Species of Pet Bird Do You Think is the “Best”?
And why? Thanks!

I really love the Congo African Greys…They have a funny personality! They can make all sorts of mimicking noises from a cats meow to water dripping from a faucet. And best of all they can talk great. I think they are beautiful even if they are just all grey with a red tail.. lol.

Rainbow lorikeets are the best! Your lori looks like he’s been dipped in rainbow paddlepop icecream! Lol.
I agree, they are like kittens, they are crazy, quirky, cute, silly and naughty!

well i have 4 birds i have 2 parakeet and 2 cockatiel.Well the cockatiel for me i like best if you get a boy he will sing the girls don’t sing but i think the boy sings to the girl and sometimes to him self when he lookes at his self. but the parakeet you can teach them to talk a d if you have a boy and girl they will kiss and fight and they will play .whith do you like best?

I think the Timneh or the Congo African Grey make the best pets. They are not screamers like all the rest and they LOVE to talk and Communicate with people. They are on the TOP of my list.

My babe is so sweet and playful and weird! He loves playing on his back and drags his stuffed animals into his dome and wrestles with them! I have had other parrots like Amazon, Cockatoo, but I must say I adore Caiques the most. They have the personality of a puppy in the body of a bird and they are not destructive in nature ( my Cockatoo would chew the molding apart!). -

Personly I prefer a Finch you cant hold or pet them but if you get two (you should get two or the one will die of lonleyness) you can watch them for houers. There halarious!!!!!!!
